Workshop: Protection of the Architectural Heritage
- Nott Caviezel
History and Theory of the Practice of Conservation and Reuse
The workshop (10-15 September 2017) provides an introduction to the history and theory of safeguarding the architectural heritage. The protection of the architectural heritage is not limited to theory but fulfilled in projects for the conservation and reuse of buildings. The course illustrates the relation between theory and practice with a series of field trips to selected buildings that reflect the range of conservation and reuse projects to which they have been subjected. Students will thus have the opportunity to see in situ what they study in the course with the lecturer and to discuss various approaches to protection of the architectural heritage.
