Ethics and economics in the prospect of the common good

The course has a twofold purpose. Firstly it introduces and explores the foundations of public ethics as the intercultural ethics of the common good. Secondly it addresses the question of rethinking the logic of the current economic system and its gradual historical transformation. From this point of view, justice and solidarity are stressed as the key values that serve to redefine the orientation of economics as a science, a system and a human activity. The architect's role will be discussed in this context, in terms of both ethical orientation and the contribution to the gestation of a fully democratic society and a fair and sustainable economy.
