Conservation, Reuse and the Practice of Restoration
- Ruggero Tropeano
The course, understood as a series of lectures on “applied theory”, seeks to introduce students to a process bound up with the themes of reuse, protection and restoration, so as to develop a precise idea of a project on the existing. We will investigate the tools available to those who deal with these topics in professional practice by examining the issues related to inventories. Students will have the opportunity to understand how organizations, foundations, and committees operate. Finally, the issue of archives will be further explored. This analytic phase will be followed by one associated with the possibilities offered to the architect as coordinator. By presenting a series of case studies the course will follow the path from theory to project.
Two tasks during the semester.
