The Changing Landscape

  • Lecturer
    • Martina Voser

The specificity of the landscape around us is expressed by its stratification into processes and dynamics that distinguish it. In the attempt to manage this complex space in transformation, the course seeks to introduce students to its understanding through experiments with instruments and methods of reading and writing related to the processes taking place. The elements and types of landscape are explored from different viewpoints in the search for design strategies adequate to these dynamics. During the lectures, themes concerning the image of the landscape will be as important as an understanding of the techniques that regulate it. Each day of the course will be devoted to a specific experience, and the experimental laboratory will be areas in Ticino.
