Between mountain, fire and water: the Caslano lime kiln.
Reuse is a much more ambitious approach than simple rehabilitation, understood in a conventional manner. It means starting a new lifecycle, whether for existing urban environments or architectures, paying attention to cultural, social and sustainable criteria.
From this perspective, our studio proposes to work on the former lime kiln in Caslano, an elegant trace of the industrial heritage waiting to regain a place in contemporaneity. The goal is to transform the Caslano lime kiln into a rowing centre, staking its future on a small sports infrastructure capable of giving new life to this legacy of the industrial past and stimulating a new relationship – sustainable, slow, sensory – with the lake.
