Ratzinger Prize 2018 to Mario Botta

The prestigious Ratzinger Prize 2018 has been awarded to architect and founder of USI Academy of Architecture Mario Botta, alongside the German theologian Marianne Schlosser. The award will be presented by Pope Francis on November 17 in the Vatican.
The architect has been awarded the prize alongside the German theologian Marianne Schlosser. As Father Federico Lombardi, president of the Joseph Ratzinger-Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation, pointed out, "our intensions were to carry on the line we inaugurated last year of including also the Christian-inspired arts among the activities of the winners". Including the 2018 edition, the eighth, the personalities awarded the Ratzinger Prize are 18, hailing from 13 countries.
