Dimitri Ozerkov is an art historian and curator specializing in 18th century and the history of print collections. Since 1999 he has held the post of curator of collection of French prints of 15th to 18th centuries at the Print Room of the State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg. A graduate of the Art History, he received his PhD from St. Petersburg State University in 2003. He mainly researched print collections and architectural libraries and focused on the history of the Russian Imperial Print Room in the European context. He curated exhibitions of prints and drawings, including ‘Triumph of Eros’ (Courtauld Institute of Art), ‘Architectural Library’ (The State Hermitage Museum), and ‘Futuruins’ (Palazzo Fortuny). He published and lectured on Catherine II, Grigory Potemkin, Berardo Galiani, Vincenzo Brenna, Giovanni Volpato, Duc de Mortemart, Heinrich von Brühl, and Jakob Philipp Hackert. His current interests lie in the fields of architectural theory, and philosophy. In March 2022, he left Russia and resigned from all Russian institutions. He continued his research in Italy as a postdoctoral fellow of the Bibliotheca Hertziana and I Tatti.
